We have finally secured a venue! We will hold our regional showcase on Saturday, April 30 at Loudoun Valley High School. Thank you, Valley Vikings!
As we have communicated throughout the year, because this event takes place after the official tournaments, it is a stand-alone event to allow your students to show off their hard work. It is open to all teams from the Catoctin (R14) and Dulles (R16) Virginia Odyssey of the Mind Regions.
Because we all want to enjoy a safe, fun event this will have a slightly different format than our traditional tournament. To keep the amount of traffic and crowding to a minimum, teams will perform both their long-term and spontaneous events in the performance block in larger event spaces. Because this is not a competitive event, unlike in traditional tournaments, spontaneous performances will be visible to the audience — a rare and fun treat for parents!
We expect to open registration for the event on March 15, and close registration on April 3. The cost to participate will be $80/team, and we’re asking each team to provide a volunteer. We’ll send a link to register when we open registration.
We are so excited to see all of you again, and bask in the brilliance of your students! As always, if you have questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to your regional co-directors at rd@nwvoices.org.
Thank you!
